Role of the DEI Coordinator at ACC
For Students |
- College fairs and tours, STEM field trips, activities, conferences and cultural events
- Academic advising
- Scholarship applications
- Connecting students with enrichment opportunities
- Assistance with college application process, SAT Preparation
- Multicultural & Heritage celebrations
- Providing networking opportunities
- Supporting language certifications through Credit by Exam
- General Mentorship
- Create a welcoming and safe environment
- Questbridge and Posse Nominator
Students will be networked with activities and programs aiding them in education, as well as connecting them to resources for language and mentoring services. |
For Staff |
- Cognitive coaching with teachers providing planning, reflective, problem-solving and calibrating conversations supporting culturally responsive practices and student learning
- Consultation and material support
- Professional Development with students
- Leadership coaching
- Adreesing DEI issues in the classroom
Teachers can be directed to programs in effectively implementing learning/communication strategies for themselves and their students. Workshops will involve the aspects of DEI and leadership development in the classroom. |

- Provides direct parent events for all full-time programs
Parents can be directed to programs in both English and Spanish focused on workshops in leadership, participation, and involvement in education based events. |
