15 Arlington Tech program seniors earned an associate’s degree from Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), the equivalent of two years of college credit. The remaining 10 students received a Uniform Certificate of General Studies (UCGS) from NOVA, which is equivalent to one year of college credit. The commencement ceremony took place at George Mason University’s EagleBank Arena on May 15, 2023.
Dual Enrollment is an enrichment opportunity that allows high school students to receive high school and college credit simultaneously. Through a partnership with Northern Virginia Community College, students enrolled at Arlington Career Center receive instruction from APS teachers who meet NOVA qualifications to teach college-level courses. The college-level courses offered range from core subjects to career & technical educational (CTE) courses. This year, 11 of the 15 associate’s degree recipients earned a Computer Science, A.S.
