Arlington Tech Students Earn College Degrees from NOVA

The 2025 graduating class at Arlington Tech Governor’s STEM Academy at the Arlington Career Center includes an unprecedented number of students earning college degrees in partnership with Northern Virginia Community College.

Before walking the stage for their high school graduation on June 3rd of this year, 19 Arlington Tech students–approximately 20% of the senior class–fulfilled rigorous requirements needed to graduate with their associate degrees. Through dual enrollment credit, counting for both secondary and post-secondary education, these seniors have earned an A.S. or A.A. in a variety of disciplines, including science, computer science, liberal arts, and general studies.

Although dual enrollment classes are offered in other counties throughout northern Virginia, very few students end up completing a full associate’s degree. We are proud to say that Arlington County has the highest number of students earning this distinction, all of whom attend Arlington Tech.

Each of these 19 seniors will transfer these degrees to four-year colleges after graduation, including the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Johns Hopkins University, George Mason University, and the University of Maryland. The degrees are worth over $247,000 in credits that the students received through APS and our partners at NOVA. Aside from the obvious economic benefits, students see the degree as an academic goal they are motivated to meet, preparing them to handle the rigor of post-secondary education.

A huge congratulations goes out to these students for their hard work and dedication in completing this honor!
