Career & College Expo

On May 3rd, representatives from 28 businesses and 11 colleges and universities attended the Arlington Career Center’s Career & College Expo. Students from CTE classes and full-time Career Center programs were able to visit with these representatives to learn more about job opportunities and college admissions processes. Additionally, students were able to attend information sessions on financial planning and literacy, the FAFSA application process, and apprenticeships led by volunteers including Arlington County School Board member Tannia Talento. Students and staff agreed that this was an incredible chance to learn more about opportunities for after graduation.

PEP Interview Day

On May 4th, volunteer interviewers came to the Career Center to help PEP students practice their interviewing skills.  PEP students met one-on-one with their assigned interviewer and practiced answering and asking questions. The interviewers assessed each student’s skills using a checklist and then debriefed with the students as a whole group at the end of the day. The students did a fantastic job and gained practical experience that they can take with them into interviews for paid jobs in the future.
