Dafnee Marquez, ALAS Student of the Year!

The Arlington Career Center is pleased to announce that one of our students, Dafnee Marquez Padilla, was recently named as the 2024 Student of the Year by the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS). This incredible honor is a testament to Dafnee’s hard work, optimism, and leadership as a student in our English Learner Institute.

Originally from El Salvador, Dafnee arrived in the U.S. just two years ago. She is already pursuing dual enrollment coursework, allowing her to earn a General Studies Diploma from Northern Virginia Community College while still in high school. Her ambitious spirit reflects her dedication to a future career in aviation.

We are so proud of you, Dafnee! Keep pursuing your dreams and doing amazing things.
