Hispanic Heritage Celebration at the Career Center

The Career Center celebrated Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month honoring the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans on October 19th.  Students showcased the beauty of the Hispanic culture through music, dance performances and art. They all shined with pride in sharing their heritage.  It was a festive event celebrated by all full-time students. The  AFJROTC cadets opened the event with a presentation of colors and then our principal, Ms. Margaret Chung, welcomed our community in Spanish and our student MC’s ran the program bilingually.  We finished with the culinary arts team sharing  the history and taste of the tres leches cupcakes.   For the closing our Assistant Principal, Mr. Erik Healey, shared that Hispanic/Latino heritage is more than a thirty minute assembly, or a month on the calendar, it is a way of life to be celebrated every day.
