Transition 9

The Transition 9 Program is designed to accommodate individual students who have not yet completed the requisite coursework for admission to high school in Arlington Public Schools.

Based on each individual student’s academic record, a schedule of classes is designed to meet the needs of the 9th grade curriculum, while at the same time scheduling 8th grade coursework not yet successfully completed.

This program is designed with small class settings, low teacher/student ratio, individualized teacher mentoring, and structured academics.

This transition schedule allows students to move from the middle school setting, spend one year in transition, and after successful completion of coursework, return to a 10th grade placement in the comprehensive high schools.
