Role of the DEI Coordinator at ACC

For Students
  • College fairs and tours, STEM field trips, activities, conferences and cultural events
  • Academic advising
  • Scholarship applications
  • Connecting students with enrichment opportunities
  • Assistance with college application process, SAT Preparation
  • Multicultural & Heritage celebrations
  • Providing networking opportunities
  • Supporting language certifications through Credit by Exam
  • General Mentorship
  • Create a welcoming and safe environment
  • Questbridge and Posse Nominator

Students will be networked with activities and programs aiding them in education, as well as connecting them to resources for language and mentoring services.

For Staff
  • Cognitive coaching with teachers providing planning, reflective, problem-solving and calibrating conversations supporting culturally responsive practices and student learning
  • Consultation and material support
  • Professional Development with students
  • Leadership coaching
  • Adreesing DEI issues in the classroom

Teachers can be directed to programs in effectively implementing learning/communication strategies for themselves and their students. Workshops will involve the aspects of DEI and leadership development in the classroom.

  • Provides direct parent events for all full-time programs

Parents can be directed to programs in both English and Spanish focused on workshops in leadership, participation, and involvement in education based events.
