Latin Students Shine at State Convention

Congratulations to all ten students from the ACC who joined a thousand Latin students from across the state at the Virginia Junior Classical League Convention on November 24th and  25th. Students attended seminars offered by professors from universities in Virginia, submitted projects judged in an art show, and took academic tests, earning the following awards:

Miyako Dodge – 2nd place in Costume Contest, 7th place on Derivatives Test, cum laude on the Mythology Test

Rhys Harbour – 8th place in Latin Oratory, 8th place on the Mythology Test, 9th place on the Roman History Test

James Karlton – 5th place in Large Models, 8th place on Geography Test, cum laude on the Mythology Test

Chuck Martin – 9th place in Sculpture, cum laude on the Mythology Test.

Bragan McFarlane – 3rd place in Sight Latin, 9th place in Latin III Reading Comprehension, cum laude on the Mythology Test.

John Miller – 1st place in Classical Cartoons, cum laude on the Mythology Test.

Nathan Relerford-Smith – 3rd place in Constructed Charts, 6th place on Geography Test, cum laude on the Mythology Test

Morgan Sexton – 2nd place in sculpture, 10th place on the Classical Art Test, 5th place on the Derivatives Test, cum laude on the Mythology Test.

Charlotte Waggy – 7th place Latin III reading Comprehension Test, 3rd place Black Pencil Drawing

Clara Wahl – 1st place in Colored Pencil Drawing, 2nd place on Mythology Test
