Arlington, VA — Arlington Public Schools is proud to announce that Michael Goodman and Charles Randolph have been selected as Apple Distinguished Educators (ADEs), an international recognition honoring innovative educators who transform teaching and learning through creativity, leadership, and the effective use of technology.
The Apple Distinguished Educator program recognizes a global community of education leaders who leverage Apple technology to empower learners, support educators, and create inclusive, future-ready learning environments.
Michael Goodman serves as a Senior Instructional Technology Coordinator, providing leadership and coaching in educational technology, artificial intelligence, and STEAM. A former classroom teacher, he holds degrees from Virginia Tech and Towson University and brings a strong foundation in instructional design and professional learning. His credentials include Apple Teacher, Apple Learning Coach, Project Management Professional (PMP), and SMART Exemplary Educator. Mr. Goodman is active in ISTE, CoSN, and the Virginia Society for Technology in Education and has received multiple honors, including Arlington Public Schools Support Employee of the Year and the 2024 Tech & Learning Technology Professional Development Award.
Charles Randolph brings more than 19 years of experience as a Senior Instructional Technology Coordinator for Arlington Public Schools. He has supported classroom instruction, large-scale technology deployments, and districtwide professional learning initiatives focused on instructional technology, STEAM, and CTE. Mr. Randolph is an ISTE GenerationAI Fellow (2025) and has served in leadership roles including ISTE STEM Co-Chair and Lead High School Instructional Technology Coordinator. His professional recognitions include Apple Distinguished Educator, Apple Learning Coach, Apple Learning Specialist, Adobe Creative Educator Leader, Adobe Creative Innovator (’25), and SMART Lumio Certified Trainer.
Together, Mr. Goodman and Mr. Randolph exemplify Arlington Public Schools’ commitment to innovation, equity, and instructional excellence. Their selection as Apple Distinguished Educators highlights the district’s continued investment in forward-thinking leadership that prepares students and educators for an evolving digital world.
