Web Page Design & Multimedia

Students develop personal portfolio websites using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Websites are published on the public internet. As the only computer science class open to 9th graders, this class stresses low-level understanding of how computers and the internet work, and prepares students for future classes in computer science and cybersecurity. Additional topics studied include version control (using git), navigating the unix filesystem using the terminal, writing text files using vim, the TCP/IP model.

  • College Credit: This course may be dual-enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) as 1TD 110 Web Page Design I & ITD 210 Web Page Design II for a total of 6 college credits.
  • Certification: Students will take one or more industry certification exams in HTML, CSS, or Javascript.
